Tenure Track Position at the Assistant Professor Level in International Affairs

The undergraduate International Affairs Program at Skidmore College seeks candidates for a newly created tenure track position at the assistant professor level. The position begins September 1, 2013. The successful candidate will have a PhD or (ABD with expected completion by the end of 2013) in political economy, public administration, migration studies, development studies, economic anthropology, or critical management studies with research interest in BRICS countries and/or Middle East. We are especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups as well as individuals who have experience with diverse populations who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses a year, conduct interdisciplinary research, and provide service to the IA Program and Skidmore College. The courses include Introduction to International Affairs, special topics course at the 300-level in the candidate’s area of expertise, and the IA senior capstone seminar. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach one undergraduate course in his/her own area of research and/or interest that will enrich the Management and Business curriculum. Interest in conducting faculty/student research in International Affairs is highly desirable.
